Hundreds of comic strips have been published in newspapers. The majority are terrible, and almost all the rest are mediocre. There have been maybe four or five good comic strips in the history of the world. So saying that Calvin and Hobbes is the best comic strip ever doesn't really hold a lot of weight.
This one is my favourite comic strip. it is definitely accurate; tests these days just feel so pointless. nothing you learn is useful and it's never remembered because you'll never use it again. I believe it would work a lot better if more people just got an apprenticeship and then had a job or skill at the end - something solid to show for it. People in the past, when this was more common, were doing jobs which let them feel as though they were giving something back, which they don't much any more because there's a lack of manual hand crafted labour. On top of this, the jobs that are available aren't shown to be an option by schools it's all too academic based jobs and they do not therefore accommodate for a large amount of the population, who feel rather useless and are unable to express their natural instinctive desire for hard, tiring and even dangerous work.
ReplyDeleteI totally agree! The school systems is literally turning us into mental bulimics. All they do is create something like a pacman game where we see how many a's we can collect. We take in all of this information only to vomit it out back onto a test then never see it again. I recently learned that the school system we use today was created in the industrial revolution made to teach people how to take in information and follow orders. Studies even show that 98% of all things people learn in school will all be for waste. I urge you to watch this video by Prince EA. He says this perfectly. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dqTTojTija8
